Sawyer/Sayid story. Prologue

Spoilers: Eventually for everything. Starts off in S1 ep 1 and continues in episode and season order. 
A/N: This is a somewhat re-write of the show if Sawyer and Sayid had been a couple from the get go. There will be many significant changes obviously but some of the events and plot points in the show will remain the same. 

Prologue 

Pushing sweaty blood stained blond hair out of his eyes, he scanned the beach wildly. The screaming, smoke and noises of destruction the plane emitted clouded his senses but he kept looking with fever and desperation. 

Four men were lifting a part of the plane off another man’s leg. A girl in a pink jacket was screaming, paralyzed in fear. A man was calling out to someone in another language, possibly Japanese or Korean. The name ‘Walt’ was being screamed by someone else. Some people walked around dazed in shock. Some people were laying on the ground injured or unconscious. Some were on the ground dead.

Panic filled his bones as he watched a part of the plane explode as two men drove to the ground with a pregnant girl to escape the blast. 

He called a name, screaming it frantically, hoping to whatever damn deity was looking on that he’d get a response. Tears and smoke stinging his eyes, panic slipping in. And then he turned his head.

In the distance he saw dark curls and cinnamon colored skin pulling a woman away from unstable wreckage. Relief flooding through his bones, veins and heart. He ran over is what felt like slow motion and grabbed the man by the arm. 

The man turned his head and then stares with wide eyes, a gush of his own relief washing over him. He let out a sigh reaching out and touching the other man’s face, blond hair tickling his dark fingers. Another scream of help and panic pulled them away. They parted and ran to the aid of the screaming person. 

They’d find each other after the rest of the passengers had been found and taken care of. After they all removed themselves from the area, the remains of what was once their plane.

They were alive and they had found each other. They would deal with the rest later.
